Lake Tibet is a private community with approximately 75 residences surrounding the lake. The lake itself is a shallow man-made lake constructed in the 1930s.
In the 1950s, the residents of the community created the Lake Tibet Property Owners Association. The Property Owners Association was dissolved in the 1970s when the Lake Tibet community became a Park District. The members of the Park District Advisory Committee are voted upon by residents and then formally appointed by the Town of Kent. The Advisory Committee coordinates lake activities and events such as spring cleanups and fall barbecues.
The lake currently is facing some issues with aquatic vegetation growth and other lake management challenges. The Lake Tibet Advisory Committee is working with residents and contractors to find solutions that work for all.
