Below is a brief summary of the topics discussed at the Fall 2018 meeting:
1. Advisory
Committee Introductions:

2. Lake
Assessment & Lake Management Update
- Lake Tibet is
classified and regulated as a freshwater wetland, which limits options for lake
management.
- Lake
assessment study conducted by Northeast Aquatic Research. Findings report and recommendations due to Advisory Committee in January 2019.
- Beavers
removed from the lake in summer 2018, under a NYSDEC permit. Beavers had been actively damming the lake outfall.
- Carp stocking
in progress and slated for spring 2019.
- Solitude Lake
Management conducted harvesting in October 2018. 78 loads of aquatic vegetation removed from the lake.
- Looking ahead in 2019, potential hydro-raking for lake management approach. If conducted by May 20, 2019, the community will not have to re-apply for a NYSDEC permit.
3. Beach Rehab
Update
- Brian
spearheading project and performing the work voluntarily. Project to be completed in spring 2019.
4. Budget Update for 2019

5. Constitution
& By Laws:
- Need a defined
constitution and by laws. The Advisory Committee will be revisiting and revising the constitution and bylaws. Proposed changes to be voted on during Spring 2019 meeting.
6. Website &
Email Address Update
- New Lake Tibet
website: provides
updates, regulations, lake management information, events, lake photos,
wildlife sightings, etc.

7. Mailings
- As a cost
savings measure, we will email information to residents, put flyers in/on
mailboxes, and post on the website. If you prefer
formal mailings, please let the Advisory Committee know.
- You will be
responsible for notifying the Advisory Committee of your preferred method of
information receipt.
8. Garbage Pickup
- During the May
2018 meeting, residents inquired about
town-provided garbage disposal services. Garbage
disposal would be included in the taxes. Not all residents utilize garbage
services.
- If there is
additional interest, we need a point person to identify viable options and
determine cost. Any takers?
9. Neighborhood
Get-together
Lake Tibet
Social on January 4th from 6:30 to 9:30. Dinner and drinks to be provided. BYOB! Formal invites to follow!
