Recent Bear Activity

Several residents have reported that there has been recent bear activity around Lake Tibet. Please be mindful of this, taking care to secure garbage cans and use caution while out and about, especially during dawn and dusk.

Lake Management Updates

Our lake management activities will continue in 2022 with some limited herbicide application to treat the variable leaf milfoil and hydro-raking of select portions of the lake. The herbicide treatment is slated to begin on July 13th and the hydro-raking is scheduled for later this summer. 

As soon as we have a finalized schedule for hydro-raking, we will be sure to share it with our residents. Check back here for updates!

 The April 2022 community meeting will be held on Saturday, April 30th at the Lake Tibet Beach (Sunset Beach) at 10:00 AM. The meeting agenda is as follows:

Lake Update

Please be advised that hydro-raking activities will be performed on Lake Tibet in early September to manage the water lily growth and to remove the invasive variable leaf milfoil. If you have any questions or need additional information, please email laketibetny@gmail.com. 

In addition, we will be replacing the bench on the public corner area. If you have any suggestions for a bench, please contact us!

Lake Update - Southeastern Corner Beautification Project

Over the past several months, the Lake Tibet Advisory Committee has worked closely with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) regarding our lake beautification project (at the eastern intersection of Tibet Drive and Pudding Street). An approved permit for the project was recently granted from the NYSDEC. You may see some activity in this area in the coming weeks and months (e.g., topsoil grading, landscape plantings, and the installation of a new bench). Once the project is completed, we hope that our residents will sit and enjoy the improved landscaping. We thank you all of your patience while we work on the project!
