Kent Biodiversity Inventory

The Town of Kent, with the support of the Town's Conservation Advisory Committee, signed the NYS Climate Smart Resolution earlier in 2020. As part of the Climate Smart Certification process, municipalities must have a Natural Resources Inventory (NRI).

As part of the NRI, a biodiversity inventory is being completed throughout Kent. You may have seen some folks on our lake this morning (September 16, 2020). This team is comprised of local naturalists who are conducting a biodiversity study on Lake Tibet.

Lake Tibet is proud to be included in this biodiversity assessment and eagerly looks forward to the completion of the NRI.

September 2020 Vegetation Survey

On Monday, September 14th, a representative from Northeast Aquatic Research will be conducting a vegetation survey of Lake Tibet via drone. The purpose of the survey is to accurately map the extent of aquatic vegetation and will assist in our abilities to target areas for future vegetation removal.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Advisory Committee at laketibetny@gmail.com.

We hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of summer!
